Chain driven

This is not recommended for people who prefer quieter doors. But as they use chain, they can withstand more abuse when compared to a belt driven motor. The main advantage of chain driven doors is that they are the cheapest of the lot.

In short, while choosing a new opener for your garage door, concentrate on your requirements. Belt driven door openers are the right choice if you want to have a reasonably priced door opener. However, the cheapest door opener in the market is the screw driven one, provided that you don’t mind the noise generated by it.
